Welcome to the first episode of the Madhikar Yoga podcast. We are going to discuss various aspects of Yoga and how it can help us improve our lives.

This episode deals with a problem that we all have experienced at many times in our lives, Anxiety. This problem is often crippling and can also affect us for prolonged periods of time. That's why we thought this would be a good topic to start with.

This episode is divided in to two parts:

  • Part 1: A free-form discussion about anxiety. Here we learn about what the different types of anxiety are, how to recognise them, and some simple tricks to manage anxiety - or at the very least, quickly reduce them in the moment. We also explore some theories of how anxiety is described from in Yoga.

  • Part 2: Guided meditation. This is a recording of a short session of guided meditation and visualisation conducted by Dr. Prabhakar. We recommend listening to it several times.

Before listening to this part of the podcast, we recommend you lie down in a comfortable position on your bed. You may use headphones to minimise disturbance to others, but this recording is best listened to over some loud speakers so that your head and ears stay comfortable.
